Reinhold Wolf, age 64, of Manchester, Georgia, died of bladder cancer on Tuesday, October 9th at 7:50 pm at Columbus Hospice House.
Mr. Wolf was born in Ellwangen/Jagst, Germany, on January 23, 1948 to Jakob and Josefine (Guntner) Wolf. He attended University of Tubingen from 1971-1974. He was awarded a prestigious Fulbright Fellowship to Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts for 1974-1975 and an Elma Hendricks Scholarship for academic achievement for 1989-1990. He earned a master’s degree from the University of Oregon in 1990 and attended the University of Arizona (1992-1995) in the PhD program. He holds degrees in English, political science, and comparative literature. He worked as a guest lecturer and teacher of both English and German languages at various universities. His last teaching position was from 1999-2004 at the Schloss-Schule, a private boy’s school, in Kirchberg, Germany. Mr. Wolf and Lani A. Pike were married on December 15, 2009.
He is survived by his wife Lani A. Wolf of Manchester; daughter Jane Elizabeth Lee (deceased) of Phenix City, Alabama; son Jonathan Benjamin Czech of Tubingen, Germany; his brother Peter Wolf of Ellwangen, Germany; three step-sons: Michael Yacksyzn of Atlanta, Paul Yacksyzn, and David Yacksyzn (and his wife Jamie) of Las Vegas, Nevada; and four step-grandchildren: Johnny, Trevor, Matthew, and Madilyn Yacksyzn, all of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Memorial services for Mr. Wolf will be held 4:00 pm, Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Manchester with Rev. Craig Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00- 8:00 pm Monday evening at the funeral home.
