William Felton (Bill) Phillips, 54, of Warm Springs, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at his home. Memorial services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Mt. Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Garner and Rev. Gene Wiseman officiating.

William was born August 13, 1957 in Manchester, the son of Billy Felton Phillips and Ola Mae Smith Phillips. He had previously served in United States Marine Corp and was employed at Bumper To Bumper in Manchester. William was a proud and loving man. He taught his children to resemble the behavior of Christ and to always work hard. Bill was a man of character and strong values. He believed in honesty, trust, and above all else...love. Love comes in many ways and has many meanings, but to my father love was spelled SARA. The woman he married and devoted his life to. He said love is what motivated a man to provide for his family and it is what will fuel a man to do what God had planned for his life. Our father always reminded us of God's love toward us. He would often say, "Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you..." He told us never to worry and only to love. That is our promise to our father.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Phillips of Warm Springs; his mother, Ola Mae Phillips of Warm Springs; four children, Tuesdi Watkins and her husband, Hosea of Auburn, AL, Melissa Phillips of Auburn, William Kyle Phillips of Columbus, Cory Phillips and his wife, Danyelle of Warm Springs; one sister, Kathy Clements and her husband, Cullen of Warm Springs; one brother, Robbie Phillips and his wife Leta of Woodbury; two grandchildren, Dallas and Logan Watkins of Auburn.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of William may be made to the Youth Department at Harmony Church of the Nazarene, Warm Springs.
